Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort
Moana Surfrider: The First Lady of Waikiki
Sitting in the beachfront courtyard under the shade of the huge banyan tree, listening to the live music as it is carried on the breeze. Could there be a more relaxing way to spend an afternoon on holiday in Hawaii? The Moana Surfrider was the first hotel to be built in Waikiki, and was a favourite haunt of well-known Hawaiian Olympian Duke Kahanamoku who bought surfing in Hawaii on to the world stage. The hotel has been upgraded and modernised since it was built in the 1900's, but still retains its wonderful old world charm.
What to do at the Moana Resort?
The Moana is a Westin resort, so has excellent spa and fitness facilities. The pool is not very big, but does have prime location right on Waikiki Beach. At the Moana you are right in the heart of Waikiki so can walk to all the shops, bars and resaurants. On the beach in front of the hotel you can rent a surfboard to catch some of the world famous waves, take a ride in a traditional outrigger canoe or head out into the bay for a sunset catamaran sail.
Moana Surfrider Location
The Moana is the ideal location for your Hawaii holiday, within walking distance of all the sights in Waikiki, and just a short drive to other attractions such as Pearl Harbour, the Diamond Head Crater, and the huge waves of the Oahu North Shore.
